Safety Awareness is # 1:
Stature. Observation. Stride.
(S.O.S.)

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO BEAT THE ODDS
ON CRIME?

Safety can be as simple as self defense awareness. Always follow two rules of thumb for your personal protection. Don't take chances and always be aware of your environment. Remember, there are over 20 million crimes committed against women in this country every year!

Each hour, 75 women are raped in the United States, and every few seconds, a woman is beaten. Follow the suggestions from self defense for women for immediate results. You can beat the odds!

Your personal protection begins here with two examples that demonstrate what you don't want to do, versus what you should be doing when exercising your self defense awareness, for example, walking to your car.

This picture shows High Victim Potential.

This example shows the person is looking down with her shoulders slouching forward, appearing to be totally distracted in thought, and taking short strides. A good victim candidate, demonstrating little in the way of personal safety awareness!

Right off the bat, change the way you walk. Stand up straight, be alert and exude confidence that says, "I am not a victim". Also, be aware of your surroundings and walk with a stride that projects your confidence. This is the essence of Self Defense Awareness.

A potential attacker is not looking for someone who may have already seen him and can later identify him or even "his hunting ground".

As mentioned before, the criminal is going to "attack" the person who looks to be the most vulnerable. Consciously, practice your personal safety awareness when you are out. If you don't look like easy prey, you cut down the odds!
