Ultimate Karate Footstomp

The Ultimate Karate Footstomp is a basic women's self defense move that can take a much larger, stronger person out of action fast. Stomping to the knee or instep can immobilize a person immediately.

As an example, let's take football players. The perception of football players is that they are well-conditioned athletes of good size and strength. However, the one weakness that affects their ability to play are their knees. You can cause serious damage to a support leg that is extended with only a "few" pounds of force to the knee joint.

Injury to a foot or knee will take out half of your attackers support system, and give you the opportunity to escape. Your legs are much stronger than your arms, so when in doubt...Stomp! Stomp! Stomp!






The Ultimate Karate Foot Stomp can be executed a number of different ways and continue to be devastatingly effective.

Let's explore a few ways to use your foot as a basic weapon in women's self defense moves.




If you are grabbed from behind in a bear hug and your arms are pinned, a foot stomp self defense move is a great technique. This is also effective when grabbed from the front.

Begin as if you were doing a knee kick by lifting your knee up, and drive your leg and heel portion of your foot down (in a piston like fashion) into the instep portion of the foot!




Remember, about 25% of all the bones in you body are in your feet. Using the heel portion of your foot and snapping the leg down fast and hard can immobilize an attacker.

When using this piston like snap with your legs be sure to drive the heel of your foot down into the attackers instep (shoelace portion of the foot) and not the toes.

Keep on stomping until you can get away!

Notice your body position is to the side of the attacker, so you change your foot angle to adjust to the new position.

Now, use the side of the foot to drive the heel portion of the foot through the target knee area.

If someone grabs your arm attempting to pull you away, hang on to them, pick up the nearest leg and drive the heel into the side of the attacker's knee.

If an attacker's leg is locked out while pulling or holding you then the knee has little chance of holding up with a Foot Stomp Kick.

Mentally, you must be prepared to keep kicking until you get results! Also, it is again worth mentioning here that you must drive the foot through the target, and not think to the target.

FINAL THOUGHTS: The actual physical techniques that make up the self-defense moves are not difficult to learn, the basic skills are not always instinctive.

An example is how to crack the attacker's nose using your head. This technique is easy to learn and can save your life, but you need to understand how to execute this self defense move safely!

By familiarizing yourself with a few good simple physical moves, you can help reduce your anxiety over the possibility of an attack and enable yourself to deal with aggression when threatened.
